Man attacked with knife and baseball bat in Tile Hill

Residents fearing for safety after the nasty attack

A man was attacked with a knife and a baseball bat in Tile Hill and left with injuries to his face.

The incident happened on Tuesday night between 9.45pm and 10.15pm in Edgehill Place.

The victim suffered injuries to his face and leg in the attack.

He was found wounded in Tanyard Close by concerned residents who phoned the emergency services.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said they received a 999 call at around 11.40pm.

He said: “We were called to reports of an assault on a gentleman.

“He was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.”

Residents in the area said that the attack has left them concerned.

One said: “It’s getting really bad around here, it’s terrible.”

West Midlands Police is now investigating the incident.

A spokesman said: “Police are investigating reports a man was assaulted at an address in Edgehill Place, Tile Hill, Coventry, between 9.45pm and 10.15pm on Tuesday night.

“The man - who is believed to have been attacked with a knife and baseball bat - suffered facial injuries and a cut to the leg.”

Anyone with information on the alleged assault is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
