The water company hope to have supplies returned by mid-afternoon

Hundreds of people in Coventry have been left without water on Boxing Day.

Equipment failure at one of Severn Trent's sites mean residents living in the city's CV4 area , as well as homeowners in Alcester's B49 and B50 areas, have had no water or low water pressure.

Customers were text today at around midday to reassure them that the problem would be solved by 4pm.

CV4 covers places like Tile Hill, Canley, Cannon Park, Lime Tree Park, Gibbet Hill, Westwood Heath and the University of Warwick.

A statement from the water company read: "This afternoon one of our booster stations has suffered a power failure, which may be causing water supplies to be off or at low pressure for some of our customers.

"Our teams are out on site now and will work around the clock to get this fixed and everything back to normal as quickly as possible.

"We know how difficult it is to have no water, especially at this time of year when you’re trying to enjoy Christmas, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience this may be causing.

"We’d like to reassure our customers that we’re doing everything we can to get the water supplies back on as soon as we can.

"We’re hoping that most customers will have their supply back on in the next couple of hours."

Customers are warned that they may experience some water discolouration as supplies return to normal.

We’ve received news that repair works at the site have now been completed!

However customers may notice some delay in getting their water supply back to normal. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too long.
