Coventry angler has all his fishing tackle stolen

Police investigating after the theft from a garage in Woodway Park

A keen angler from Coventry has had all of his fishing equipment stolen.

Alan Walton will be forced to borrow tackle to take part in his next match after thieves broke in to his garage in Woodway Lane, Woodway Park.

They stole a number of fishing rods, reels and poles after forcing their way in to the garage on December 5.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Officers are investigating the theft of five fishing rods from a garage on Woodway Lane, Coventry, between 11.45am and 1.15pm on December 5.

“Reels and fishing poles were also taken. Officers are investigating and anyone with information is urged to call 101.”
