Coventry carjacking: Three teenagers arrested after police chase

A silver Mercedes was stolen in Coventry in the early hours



Carjackers who struck in Coventry took police on an early-morning chase across the city and Warwickshire.

Three men assaulted the owner of a silver Mercedes outside a home in Nicholls Street, Hillfields, on Wednesday before stealing the car.

Warwickshire Police were then called to a fuel theft at a service station on Highfield Lane, Corley, shortly before 3am in the morning.

Officers made off in pursuit of the vehicle which they finally managed to stop on the M40 at junction 13, just south of Warwick.

A photo of the car was posted on the @OPUWarks Twitter account.

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, and an 18-year-old man, all from Coventry, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

They have been bailed until mid-January by West Midlands Police.
