NatWest to close two local branches in mass closure programme
Bank says more customers are moving to online banking
NatWest has revealed it is to close branches in Coventry and Kenilworth as the unstoppable march of online and telephone banking continues to hit the high street.
A spokesman for the bank said it had taken the “difficult decision” to close its branches in Earlsdon and Kenilworth in the middle of next year.
The bank’s Kenilworth branch will close its doors for the final time on June 13 while the Earlsdon branch will shut down a day later.
For people who want to continue to use branch services locally NatWest said its nearest branch to Kenilworth in four miles away in Leamington, while the nearest branch to Earlsdon is less than two miles away in Coventry city centre.
