Family OUTRAGED at missing Christmas jumper order at Nuneaton Asda
One of the jumpers was a birthday present for a five-year-old boy
A mum and grandma were left outraged after being told two Christmas jumpers they had ordered were not ready - despite seeing them in the store.
Kim Harrison, from Bedworth , helped her mother Roz order the two festive jumpers online, one of which was a birthday present for her five-year-old son.
After a series of unsuccessful calls to chase up the order, a trip to the Asda store in Nuneaton town centre saw them leaving empty handed and disappointed.
Kim said: “We had not heard anything from Asda after we ordered it.
“We have been passed from person to person, we have just been spoken to like we are absolutely nothing. It’s just disgusting that they are letting a five-year-old down.
“We actually went into the store first because we weren’t sure where to go for click and collect, and we saw the two jumpers we had purchased and the person we spoke to wasn’t actually willing to give us the items.”
Five-year-old Max Woods, Kim’s son, asked Roz, who he calls Nanny Bean, if she could get that specific jumper for his birthday, after spotting it when watching her look for a jumper for herself.
Roz then asked her daughter to help her out with ordering the two jumpers for her and Max.
The jumpers were ordered from Asda last Thursday and were due to be picked up via the Nuneaton store’s click and collect service on Wednesday , however Miss Harrison never received confirmation of her order.
Concerned about the parcel’s whereabouts, Kim called the store on Tuesday evening in an attempt to be reassured that the jumpers would be ready to pick up the following day and would be ready for Max’s upcoming birthday.
Another call to the store in the morning brought no luck, so Roz and Kim went to the store in person to enquire. They were told that the order could not be traced as the email address wasn’t recognised, however Roz had a receipt showing that the money for the jumpers had left her account and been paid to Asda.
Miss Harrison added: “The money had gone out of the bank account but we didn’t have the jumpers. It might only be for £19.60 but it’s still important. They had our money so we wanted our items.
“I am disgusted by the whole service. I just don’t like how we were treated.
“We came away from the store with nothing. They have let a five-year-old down, and they have let a 61 year old down.”
After leaving the store, Kim received a text to say her order was now ready to collect. She was able to get the jumpers later that day but she still feels let down with the experience she had in store on Wednesday morning.
I'm surprised the Prime Minister didn't intervene personally?
