They have revealed that they are following up a number of leads but have not yet brought the man to justice.

As reported by the News, an image showing the man - who was wearing a light grey tracksuit and holding a knife - has been plastered across social media today (Monday, October 31).

Despite making no arrests, investigating officers have recovered a knife, believed to be the one used during the stabbing in the Miners Welfare Park yesterday (Sunday, October 30).

A 31-year-old man, who has not been identified, was stabbed in the lower back.

It is understood that he had been playing football with friends in the park when an argument broke out between them and two men, who have been described as black.

One of the men stabbed the victim in the back and the pair then fled the scene, leaving the victim needing treatment at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

Detective Inspector Neil Reader explained the investigation is ongoing, adding they still want to hear from anyone with any information about the suspects.

"We are following a number of leads to help us identify the offenders and are grateful to those who have already come forward with information," Det Insp Reader said.

"We will investigate any piece of information or potential evidence which is passed to us. We would urge anyone who was at the scene at the time, or knows anything which they feel would help the investigation, to get in touch with us as soon as possible. We would, however, urge against people taking matters into their own hands and risking causing further offences."

Anyone with information should Warwickshire Police on 101 or the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555111 quoting incident 271 of October 30.
