Police were called to Henley Road and found the man slumped in a stairwell
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found with serious injuries in Coventry.
A 48-year-old man was found at the bottom of some steps at flats in Henley Road, Henley Green, at around 9.30pm on Sunday night.
A member of the public was giving him CPR before paramedics arrived at the scene, a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
The injured man was unconscious and taken to University Hospital with head and abdominal injuries.
West Midlands Police say that he is currently in a critical condition.
Detectives immediately began an investigation and two men, aged 46 and 49, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
They are currently in police custody.
Officers remained at the scene in Henley Road this morning which is cordoned off opposite Caradoc Close and next to Broad Park children’s centre.
A statement from West Midlands Police said: “Detectives have arrested two people after a man was found with serious injuries at a house in Coventry.
“Officers were called by the ambulance service to Henley Road at around 10pm on Sunday following reports that a man had collapsed.
“The 48-year-old was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
“An investigation was launched and two men aged 46 and 49 were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.”
