Child migrants from the demolished Calais ‘Jungle’ are welcome in Coventry, the city’s deputy leader today said.

Coventry has positioned itself at the forefront of welcoming refugees and while there are no formal plans to take in child migrants, the council’s deputy leader said the authority would be happy to help.

Cllr Abdul Khan said: “It comes as Coventry is at the forefront of welcoming refugees in to the city and away from the hell they have left behind in their home countries.

“The council have been welcoming migrants for a number of years, there is nothing new to anything we have been doing.

“Between the council, the refugee centre and the cathedral, we welcome anyone here.

“I can’t confirm if we will get any from the current wave in the jungle.

“We are happy to receive them because they are in need and we are happy to accommodate.”

Cllr Khan added: “We are a city of peace and reconciliation, and we are giving them the peace they need.

“Our communities and council will ensure they get what they need to be looked after.

“It is great for the city, we can be known for giving these people a home away from home.

“Everyone is welcome here.”

Not one on that coach looks like a child since when does a child have crows feet on the sides of their eyes and beards and should it not be the Coventry people who has the right to invite people here I would like to see a vote on it especially when our council can't house their own .
I wonder how many here already when it comes to it will join our forces and fight for for this country when they won't even fight for their own country.

Khan is a fool. We have enough problems in this city without importing more.

Perhaps Khan would like to put a few up himself and be responsible for them?

Vote Khan out at the first opportunity, you know it makes sense!
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
