The body of a man was found in a residential street in Coventry yesterday.

Police were called to Blackwell Road, Foleshill, at about 2.50pm on Saturday and recovered the body of a 30-year-old man.

Police said the man’s body was found in a patch of wasteland next to a redundant building site on the corner of Foleshill Road.

The death, which is not being treated as suspicious, has now been referred to the coroner.

Khalil Hussain, was working at an Indian restaurant opposite when he heard the news.

The chef said: "I was working here and somebody shouted 'police outside!'

"I said 'what's happened? and he said 'across the road, one house they seen the body in the field'.

"We went outside and lots of people was there."

The body was seen from the window of a detached house in Blackwell Road overlooking the building site.

A girl at the address said her sister had spotted the body.

She added: "It was really shocking, I honestly didn't look because I didn't want to see."
