A Coventry dog breeder told of his horror after one of his puppies was stolen from a car and killed.

Chaos, a young Olde English Bulldog, was discovered a couple of days after thieves smashed a car window to steal the pup while his owner was delivering a parcel.

Coventry breeder Lee Coulson claimed that the thugs had attempted to cut the puppy's ears and tail off.

He said it was “terrifying to think what that poor dog went through”.

Lee, who has been breeding bulldogs for two years, said: “The lady went to the shop to drop a parcel off and the car was broken in to and the pup was stolen.

“As I have a lot of friends in the bulldog world I asked for information over Facebook and we had lots of shares.

"I woke up on Sunday morning feeling hopeful but then found out the dog’s body had been found.

“Whoever had him had attempted to cut his ears and tail off.

"That’s usually from someone trying to hide the identity of the dog or potentially a dog fighting ring.

“He had also died from internal bleeding.

“It’s horrific and terrifying to think what that poor dog went through. That’s not a normal person who has done that.

“The lady who had Chaos is heartbroken and I feel so sorry for her.

“It’s also heart-wrenching for me as every litter that is born is like looking after a newborn child being up every couple of hours to feed them.

“Every dog that lives here to start with I expect to go out and have a little adventure and a great life with their new family.”

After spending a number of weeks with his brother, Boss, and dad, Nitro, at Lee’s home in Holbrooks, Chaos went to live with his new owners in Wolverhampton.

And it was during a journey in to Dudley last week that the adorable pup was stolen.

Lee, 46, said that the theft of dogs, particularly valuable puppies, was on the rise.

He added: “Every day people are having their dogs taken and not seeing them again.”

The RSPCA was approached for comment.

My guess it was a rival breeder?

I'd agree with you Dutchman.

That said, my dog is never left alone and even supervised in the garden. - I simply don't trust people.
