A woman was elbowed in the chest as she sat in a car during a racially aggravated attack in Coventry.

The suspect also caused damage to the car during the incident in Coventry city centre earlier this summer.

The woman was reversing her car out of a parking space in the Lower Precinct car park on June 16 at 10am when a man hit the back of the car with his hand.

When her boyfriend got out of the car the suspect became aggressive and shouted racial abuse at them.

As they tried to drive off the man reached through the window and elbowed the woman in the chest and kicked the car causing a dent.

Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

Anyone who recognises him or has any information is asked to email contactus@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk or call Pc Jag Singh from Coventry Police on 101.

Something doesn't feel quite right here. Perhaps the car was backing out and the driver didn't see the pedestrian, and he slapped the car as a warning?

But reaching through a car window and elbowing someone? - Try it: whilst not impossible, it isn't easy.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
