Police issue image of man they want to speak to in connection with the theft at Ansty



Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a distraction burglary involving an 81-year-old woman.

The incident happened on Saturday, July 16, at around 4pm in the Grove Road area of Ansty.

According to reports from Warwickshire Police, two men approached an 81-year-old woman as she returned from shopping and, spreading a map across the bonnet of her car, asked her for directions to Surrey.

The woman went indoors to get a pen and paper, believing that the men remained outside, but when they left she discovered that her bank card had been stolen from the kitchen.

The card has since been used in a number of places to withdraw cash and make a number of purchases.

One of the men is described as being white, in his 30s, 5ft 7in tall, slim with short fair hair. He was smartly dressed.

The second man is described as having an olive complexion, also in his 30s, 5ft 2in tall, stocky build with short dark hair. He was wearing casual clothing.

Police believe that the woman may have been followed by the two men as she left the Sainsbury’s supermarket in Bell Green Road, Coventry.

The man they want to speak to was in the supermarket at the time and may have some information which would help them with their enquiries.
