Elderly man taken to hospital after Radford fall

An elderly man has been taken to hospital after a fall which closed a road in Radford.
Police were called at around 2.50pm on Tuesday to reports of a pensioner, believed to be in his 90s, having fallen while crossing St Nicholas Street, near the junction of Light Lane.
The man suffered head injuries and was taken to University Hospital.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “A witness said he tripped and fell in the road.
“It completely blocked the road. We’re investigating what happened.”
