Flights between Birmingham and Turkey resume after failed coup
Travellers warned to avoid public places and remain vigilant as tensions continue to run high
Flights between Birmingham and Turkey were today returning to normal after disruption following an attempted military coup in the country.
A flight from Istanbul is scheduled to arrive into Birmingham at 4pm UK time, with a return flight to the city at 5pm.
Another flight from Dalaman was expected to land around 3.30pm with two flights scheduled to the city tomorrow.
Britains travelling to Turkey are, however, being warned to avoid public places, remain vigilant and monitor the FCO website for travel advice.
A spokesperson from the Foreign Office said: “We are concerned by events in Ankara and Istanbul. Our Embassy is monitoring the situation closely.
“Given the current uncertainty we advise British nationals to avoid public places, remain vigilant and monitor the FCO website for travel advice.”
