The blaze happened in Tile Hill this morning
A car was set on fire near a children’s play area in Coventry overnight.
Fire crews from Canley tackled the flames from the Ford Focus in Plants Hill Crescent, Tile Hill, at 1.29am today.
Police were also called and the incident was confirmed as arson.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said: “We received several calls from people in the surrounding area. It was one car severely on fire in the children’s play area and police were requested.
“It was confirmed arson.”
Police are investigating the blaze and are appealing for anyone with information that may assist their inquiries to come forward.
