A burnt-out car has been found by police investigating a assault on a milkman in Warwickshire which left him critically ill.Robert Bullock, 62, known as Bob, was attacked by a gang of men in Brinklow, during the afternoon of 25 April.
Police said they later found a burnt out Ford Focus, thought to have been used by the men, near the Greyhound Public House in Exhall.
A man, aged 23, from Coventry, has been arrested and bailed over the matter.
Police believe Mr Bullock disturbed three men who were close to his van which was parked in Walkers Terrace at about 1500 BST on the day he was attacked.
'School years'The men, all wearing balaclavas, hit him with an unknown object, before leaving in a black Ford Focus and heading towards Ansty.
The Ford Focus was found on the following Wednesday, having first been reported to West Midlands Police.
In a statement, Mr Bullock's family said he was fighting and responding to treatment.
"Bob is 62 years old and has been delivering milk since his school years.
"He is hard working and works seven days a week. he would help anyone from a total stranger to a family member," they said.
They also apologised to customers over milk deliveries.
