Two men had to be treated in hospital after being chased down and beaten by a gang of men with baseball bats.

The victims - one in his 40s, the other in his 20s - were attacked on Duke Street, in Nuneaton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Prior to the assault, a man in what is believed to be a black Peugeot drove past three times. Two or three black men approached the car before they chased the victims and hit them with weapons believed to be baseball bats.

The attack, which occurred at about 12.10am, left the man in his forties with injuries to his head and face while the younger victim sustained bruising and injuries to his arm and back. Both were treated in hospital.

The victims were unable to provide a detailed description of the suspects.
