Seen in Coventry: Camouflaged Jaguar being tested on city roads
Jaguar Land Rover has promised to launch up to 50 new product lines over the next few years and one of them has been spotted being tested on the streets of Coventry.
As with all new models, the identity of the ‘top secret’ vehicle remains under wraps and has been heavily camouflaged as it undergoes testing.
The most recent vehicle spotted on Sky Blue Way is believed to be a derivative of the Jaguar XE saloon - possibly a hatchback version of even the next version of the car.
It was posted on a British Leyland enthusiasts’ Facebook page by local man Andy McGeechan. The eagle-eyed car enthusiast saw it on Sky Blue Way at around 10am on the morning of Saturday, March 12.
In his Facebook post Mr McGeechan speculated whether it might be the XE Mk II. Other people posting wondered could it might be a ‘fruity’ performance version - one speculating it is a prototype of an ‘E-Pace’ sports saloon.
But the general consensus is it was more likely to be a hatchback version, as a result of subtle changes to the styling of the roofline.
Then again it could just be a very bad paint job!
