Man stabbed in front of loved ones in street attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after the attack in Spon End on Friday evening

A man was stabbed in front of his family in Coventry on Friday night.

Police say that the “unprovoked attack” happened in Barras Lane, Spon End , at just before 6.30pm and saw the victim taken to hospital with a stab wound.

He was treated and stitched up, and is now said to be recovering at home.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Teenage boy charged with stabbing man in Coventry street

A teenager is set to appear at crown court accused of stabbing a man in Coventry.

The 25-year-old victim was attacked in Barras Lane, Spon End, just before 6.30pm on Friday, November 13.

He was taken to hospital and was treated for a wound to his lower back.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested from an address in Radford on Monday and has been charged with threatening a person with a bladed article and wounding with intent.

He appeared at Coventry Magistrates Court on Tuesday November 17 when the case was sent to the city’s crown court on December 1.

The teen was remanded in custody.

Boy, 17, admits stabbing man in the back in Spon End

A teenager has pleaded guilty to stabbing a man in a Coventry street.

Kallum Kavanagh, 17, of Bridgeman Road, Radford, has admitted the attack in Barras Lane, Spon End, just before 6.30pm on Friday, November 13.

He was arrested three days after the attack and charged with threatening a person with a bladed article and wounding with intent.

The 25-year-old victim was taken to hospital and treated for a wound to his lower back.

Kavanagh pleaded guilty to both charges at Warwick Crown Court on Wednesday and will be sentenced no later than February 5, 2016.

Teenager sent to prison for more than three years for street stabbing

A teenager who admitted stabbing a man in a Coventry street has been jailed for more than three years.

Kallum Kavanagh, 17, of Bridgeman Road, Radford, admitted the attack in Barras Lane, Spon End, just before 6.30pm on Friday November 13.

He was arrested three days after the attack and charged with threatening a person with a bladed article and wounding with intent.

The 25-year-old victim was taken to hospital and treated for a wound to his lower back.

Kavanagh pleaded guilty to both charges at Warwick Crown Court and was sentenced earlier this month to 40 months in prison.
