Investigating officers say that the victim, who has not been identified but is a man, had stepped out of VW transporter van in Grant Road when he was approached by the robber.

He stole the keys to the vehicle before pushing the msn over and then driving off in the van.

The van was later found on Byrant Road but the suspect remains at large.

He has been described as being white but with tanned skin, around 5ft 2ins tall, of a normal build with long black hair. At the time of the robbery, around 3.55pm pm on Wednesday, August 5, he was wearing a red T-shirt

"Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 224 of August 5," a force spokesperson said.

Information can also be passed on to the police via the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
