A man has died following a fire at an assisted living complex in Coventry.
Emergency crews attended the fire at Wyken Court, off Attoxhall Road, at about 17:20 BST on Saturday.
The fire was contained to one flat in the building, according to the ambulance service.
"Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save a man found in the flat, and sadly he was confirmed dead at the scene," a spokesman said.
West Midlands Fire Service said an investigation was taking place to establish the cause of the blaze.
The properties at Wyken Court are for people over the age of 55 with a care need.
Frank Bartle, district manager for Wyken Court, said: "Our deepest sympathies are with the family at this difficult time.
"This was an isolated incident and no-one else was affected. We are supporting the authorities and tenants on site. The wellbeing of our tenants is paramount."
