Man injured by car in Nuneaton hit-and-run crash

A man is recovering in hospital with head and leg injuries after being hit by a car that drove off in Nuneaton.

The 27-year-old victim was in Camp Hill Road in the early hours of Sunday when a car, believed to be a black Vauxhall Corsa, pulled up.

The vehicle moved off then turned round noisily and struck the man, before heading off towards Chapel End.

Warwickshire Police say they are treating the matter as a failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

The man was taken to University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The vehicle, described as an old "bubble type" Corsa, had more than one person inside.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
