Armed Forces Day celebrated in Coventry

Soldiers paraded round Broadgate in the glorious sunshine



Soldiers young and old paraded through Coventry as part of armed forces day this morning.

Shoppers and well wishers watched on as troops circled Broadgate before saluting the Lord Mayor of Coventry in front of the statue of Lady Godiva.

The event was part of a national day of support and celebration for our armed forces and their families.

The parade was preceded by a special service at Holy Trinity Church, with Rev David Mayhew leading the congregation through a service of thanksgiving.
