A city man has appeared in court accused of carrying out a frenzied knife attack on his girlfriend in front of one of her children.Shane Lee Miller, of Links Road, Radford, was remanded in custody by a judge at Warwick Crown Court.
The court was told the 26-year-old was charged with the attempted murder of his 29-year-old girlfriend Yvonne Windle at her home in Little Farm, Willenhall Wood, on April 3.
The prosection allege she received seven stab wounds to her abdomen in what was described in court as a "fairly frenzied attack."
It was alleged Miller carried on stabbing Miss Windle even when others were trying to hold him back.
There were six children in the house at the time, including Miss Windle’s five children, and it was alleged the attack was witnessed by a nine-year-old and heard by a seven-year-old.
Miss Windle remained in intensive care at the time of the hearing.
Judge Richard Griffith-Jones adjourned the case for the prosecution papers, including medical evidence, to be served on the defence prior to a plea and case management hearing in July.
An application for bail was refused and Miller was remanded in custody.
