More than 1,200 homes in Coventry were hit by a power cut earlier this evening.
The blackout struck in the Canley and Westwood Heath area at about 6pm and saw homes plunged into darkness for around half an hour.
A spokesman for Western Power Distribution said that a total of 1,202 properties in the CV4 7, CV4 8, CV4 9 and CV5 6 areas had been affected by tonight’s power cut.
A large number of streetlights also went out for a short while due to the power cut. No more details on the cause have been made available.
