Postby dutchman » Thu Jun 05, 2014 9:35 pm

Police have launched an investigation after shots were fired at a car in the Stoke area of Coventry on Thursday (June 5).

A black Vauxhall Astra was found abandoned a short distance away where it had crashed into a garden wall in Swan Lane.

The incident happened around 2.30pm.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of a firearm and was helping police with their enquiries.

Some road closures are in place while forensic experts examine the scene, but these are expected to be lifted shortly to reduce disruption to the public.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101 or alternatively information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
