Coventry Blaze avenged Saturday's 6-2 defeat at Nottingham with a 6-4 victory over Panthers at the Skydome on Sunday.Greg Chambers and Adam Calder both scored a brace to help Blaze return to the top of the Elite League.
Luke Fulghum and Russ Cowley also netted while Corey Neilson, Bruce Richardson, David Clarke and Dominic D'Amour were on target for Panthers.
Blaze are a point clear of Belfast at the top of the table and are two clear of Panthers with games in hand on both.
Player-coach Neilson had put Nottingham ahead at the Skydome but Chambers hit a quick-fire double to put the home side in front.
Bruce Richardson levelled for the visitors before Fulghum and Cowley gave the Blaze breathing space.
After six goals in the opening period, Calder was the only player to net in the second, scoring on the half-hour mark.
David Clarke and Dominic D'Amour gave Coventry a scare with a couple of goals in the final period, but Calder secured all the points for the home side with a final effort in a powerplay.
On Saturday, Blaze were hit by three goals in final four minutes as they slumped to defeat at the National Ice Centre.
Calder gave Coventry an early lead only for goals from Kevin Bergin, Sean McAslan and Cameron Mann to put the Panthers in command.
Chambers gave Blaze hope when he pulled one back in the final period but McAslan, Marc Levers and Neilson put the result beyond doubt with a devastating late burst of scoring.
