New £7m hospice opens to patients in Coventry

Postby dutchman » Mon Dec 07, 2009 7:23 pm

The first patients have been moving into a new hospice in Coventry.

The £7m Myton Hospice was paid for by local fundraisers to provide care on the site of the old Walsgrave Hospital in the city.

The Coventry Primary Care Trust (PCT) has said it will fund half of the hospice's running costs each year.

However, the hospice, which will have about 20 beds in total, will still need to raise about £2m a year from donations.
