A puzzled pet owner is hoping an appeal in the Nuneaton News will shed some light on some strange events.

Estate agent Andrea Sheldon's beloved moggie Milo has been through a strange six months having been stolen and then had sections of his fur shaved by an unknown assailant.

"It's happened about seven or eight times in the last six months now," explained Andrea Sheldon who lives in Stockingford, Nuneaton.

"He goes missing and then comes back some time later having had his fur shaved off near his back legs."

Milo, who is aged around six, is a rescue cat, and is used to going out and about, leaving his concerned owner in a quandary as to whether to let him out or keep him in away from whoever is responsible for the bizarre attacks.

"It feels cruel keeping him in as he's used to going out doing his own thing," she explained.

"But it's just so weird that this is happening."

The Helena Close resident has contacted Warwickshire Police over the matter but the force said it had never heard anything like it before and referred her to the RSPCA.However the animal charity which was set up to protect animals and put an end to cruelty says it is powerless to do anything unless the culprit is caught and then they can be taken to court and punished.

"The police said it was very weird and they'd not had any reports like it before and I didn't get a crime number," added the mum to two, 11-year-old Gabriel and five-month-old Cole.

"They said try the RSPCA but they said they needed to find whoever was responsible and then they could act."

The cat owner, who also has two Husky dogs, Sasha and Diesel, has become so desperate to get to the bottom of the matter she has set up a Facebook page entitled 'who's stealing my cat'.

Anyone who knows who is responsible for these attacks on Milo is invited to log onto https://www.facebook.com/andrea.sheldon ... 0/?fref=ts to provide information or contact the News on 024 7635 3534.
