Warwick District Council’s planning committee granted planning permission for the £7 million project which will allow all of the units in Regent Court to be turned into restaurants.

Residents living in the area had raised concerns over increased noise, smells, litter and the detrimental impact it would have on the conversation area - a point shared by English Heritage and the Conservation Advisory Forum.

The move - which the Courier predicted last year and was reported on the {http://www.leamingtoncourier.co.uk/news/local-news/exclusive-new-restaurant-quarter-planned-for-leamington-1-5845530 |front page of last Friday’s edition} - comes after the successful opening of Nando’s and the forthcoming arrival of forthcoming arrival of Turtle Bay.

Regent Court Owners New River and Leamington-based agents Wareing & Company have had a string of strong enquiries from other major operators keen to tap into the town’s growing leisure offer and the move is expected to create around 300 new jobs.
