Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was robbed of his Volvo at gunpoint in Coventry.Officers were called to a house on Branksome Road, Coundon at around 10.50pm on Monday 3 February after the resident was approached by a man in possession of a gun outside his home.
The offender demanded the man’s car keys and escaped in his red 13 plate Volvo V40.
Not shots were fired and no one was injured.
Detective Inspector Nick Dale, from Force CID in Coventry, said: "This crime was quite rare. It is unusual that a gun would be used in a vehicle robbery in this area and the stolen car itself is pretty uncommon.
"We are continuing to try and trace the Volvo, which is red and a V40 model, and we urge anyone who may have seen it in the area to call us as soon as possible."
Witnesses or anyone with information should call the serious acquisitive crime team in Coventry by dialling 101 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
