A man's body has been found on a railway line in Nuneaton after apparently being hit by a passenger train.
British Transport Police officers were called to a section of track near Vale View, Stockingford, at 10.15am following a report that a person had been hit by a train.
A BTP spokesman said: “Medics from West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended and located the body of a man, who has yet to be formally identified but is believed to have been in his twenties.
“He had injuries consistent with having been hit by a train – thought to have been the 07.27 Stansted to Birmingham service – and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner. The rail line was closed until 11.20am.”
