Paramedics and police officers attended the scene in Hall Green Road on Friday night after an accident involving two cars.

They arrived to find that one had smashed into the front of the premises.

Two 19-year-old men were taken to hospital, after paramedics spent 55 minutes dealing with one of the them.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called out after reports of a car versus a building. A man in his late teens was treated for a leg injury.

“Crews used a spinal board and neck collar as a precaution. He was transferred to Coventry’s University Hospital along with a second person with minor injuries.”

Coventry Building Society say the damage was ‘extensive’, but the branch will be secured for customers and staff and will reopen by the middle of next week.
