New student flats plan for Far Gosford Street and Bramble St

A dozen student flats could be built in one of Coventry’s oldest streets.

Lapworth Architects have applied to the city council’s planning committee to build the apartments above three properties in Far Gosford Street and two in Bramble Street.

The flats would be located above Vantage Chemists and Drinks For You, in Far Gosford Street, if given the green light by planning chiefs.

Mike Kalam, a director at Lapworth Architects, said: “We have been in discussions with the city council and there is a clear need for student apartments.

“The flats are likely to be quite nice and larger than normal student accommodation, and we also feel this will help to create jobs.

“We feel this will be good for the city and are pleased to be involved.”
