The Ikea store Coventry was shut all day yesterday because of a power failure.
Its planned ‘crayfish party’ - celebrating the traditional Swedish eating festival - had to be cancelled.
A full refund is being offered for all tickets purchased.
Store manager Karen Sutton said: “As the result of an electrical power failure, IKEA Coventry was unfortunately closed to customers for the whole of day on Thursday, August 1.
“After working around the clock to restore the power, the store is now open again for trading as usual.
“We apologise for any inconvenience the closure may have caused our customers.
”The cancelled event has been replaced by a ‘crayfish celebration’ weekend, beginning today, where customers will receive a free plate of crayfish with every meal they buy.

The IKEA store has its own electricity sub-station which was left over after the Co-Op was demolished. I suspect that is what failed?
