A CANLEY man has gone missing two days before the funeral of his mother.
Kenneth Wood, 55, of Gerard Avenue, was reported missing by his family on Monday. They said it was completely out of character and police have expressed their concern for his welfare.
Sergeant Kelly Mills said: "Mr Wood has recently lost his parents and the death of his mother has hit him particularly badly, so we are trying him to find him urgently to make sure that he is safe and well.
"His mother's funeral takes place tomorrow (Wednesday) so we are asking members of the public to help locate Mr Wood for the sake of his family."
Mr Wood is described as a slim white man, 5'8" tall with short brown hair and blue eyes. When last seen he was wearing a white round necked T-shirt, dark jeans and work boots.
Anyone who has seen him is asked to contact police on 101 or the Missing People charity on 116 000.
