Peter Knight has been appointed in the role at Stagecoach Midlands’ Nuneaton bus depot.

The 25-year-old joined the firm in 2010 on its Graduate Management Development Programme and was based initially at the depot in Chesterfield.

After a successful first year, which involved working in the operations, commercial and engineering functions of the business, he moved to Stockton-on-Tees depot as assistant operations manager until August last year.

On completion of the Graduate Programme, Peter then spent three months at the company’s Oxford depot as commercial assistant and a further three months at Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, where he was responsible for overseeing the transition of the two former First Group businesses at Chester and Birkenhead to Stagecoach ownership, putting various Stagecoach systems and procedures in place.

The new manager said: “Nuneaton is a well established depot within Stagecoach Midlands with excellent working practices, however my challenge is to make improvements wherever possible to make a positive impact on the services we deliver to our customers.

“I intend to work closely with my management colleagues, together with the driving and engineering staff alike, to ensure that we deliver the service the people of Nuneaton and surrounding areas have come to expect from Stagecoach.”

Peter graduated from Southampton University with a Bachelor’s degree and Masters degree, both in geography. “It has certainly proved useful with my various moves around the country,” he joked.

He is single and lives in Hinckley, within close commuting distance of the Nuneaton depot. A keen swimmer whilst growing up and at University, Peter now follows his passion for American Football and Formula 1.
