A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man was found stabbed to death at his home in Coventry.The body of 52-year-old Ian Rowe was discovered by police at his house in Coundon Road, Radford, on Thursday.
Mr Rowe was the youngest of three siblings and his family said he was a "kind and gentle man".
A 22-year-old man was arrested on Monday and has been ordered to appear before Coventry city magistrates on Wednesday.
Sail the AtlanticMr Rowe's family said: "The death of Ian, youngest brother to a brother and two sisters, has left the family feeling profoundly stunned."
Mr Rowe served in the Royal Navy on board HMS Ark Royal and also attempted to sail across the Atlantic before he settled in Coventry, his family added.
The family said: "Although he never married, Ian was part of an extended family who have fond memories of shared times together."
