COUNCIL taxpayers in Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth and surrounding areas will continue to pay the same rate of council tax for the third year in a row.
Warwick District Council members have approved a proposal to freeze the tax again - meaning that residents who live in a band D property will continue to pay £146.86 a year. The council says that in real terms, taking into account inflation, the tax bill has gone down by ten per cent since 2007.
Cllr Andrew Mobbs, responsible for financial policy, said: “Freezing the council tax and maintaining the same breadth and quality of services is no mean achievement. Looking ahead, the council does continue to face significant financial challenges requiring further savings and efficiencies. There is a programme of work to ensure these are delivered.”
