It's not just tax codes. People have been sent the wrong assessments for all sorts of things from housing benefit to family credit. The government has increased the complexity of the whole tax/benefits system at the same time as cutting staff "to save money" and the result has been chaos. I've personally received nonsensical letters of explanation recently from the council housing dept, council tax division and DWP. It's my sincere belief the entire system of government funding will collapse before the end of this year. October alone sees a massive change to the way over two million poeple are paid but no extra staff have been allocated to deal with it. :clown: :clown:
