Police have released an image of a man wanted in connection with a brutal attack in Coventry city centre.

David Henry Burt, 36, is accused of hitting a man over the head with a beer bottle before repeatedly punching him in the face.

The victim, aged 27 and from Walsgrave, was with friends in the Castle pub in Little Park Street when he was attacked in April 2011.

He was left with a cut head, broken nose and severe bruising.

Police have yet to trace Burt and his image has been added to an online wanted gallery.

Pc Kerenza Dunne, from Coventry Police, said: "David Burt is wanted in connection with a violent and unprovoked attack and anyone who knows where he lives or socialises should call police immediately."
