Elderly bus passengers injured in collision

TWO people were taken to hospital after a bus and car crashed in Bedworth this morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of Hill Street and Orchard Street just before 11am.

A spokesman said: "Three patients were initially treated at the scene.

"The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, was treated at the scene and later discharged.

"Two women, believed to be in their 70s and travelling on the bus, were treated for head and neck pain.

They were immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board before being conveyed to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment."
