Police in Coventry have arrested two men in connection with reports of suspicious activity near schools in the north of the city over the last week.
The men, aged 32 and 30, were arrested just after 3pm yesterday (Oct 18) from an address in Whitley following a police stop-check on a white van.
Both men are currently being questioned by detectives about reports from parents that school children have been followed or spoken to by strangers as they walk to and from school.
And on October 8, a 17-year-old girl was grabbed by a man as she walked in in Hillmorton Road, Woodend, at 8.30pm - she managed to run off but was left badly shaken by the attack.
Detective Sergeant Dave Bailey said: “We would like to stress to local people that we are taking these reports very seriously; we're investigating the incidents and carrying out local enquiries including checking CCTV. Local officers are also speaking to schools in the area to offer reassurance and safety advice."
Anyone with information should contact Force CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
