Three car crash closes Coventry's Holyhead Road

Three cars have been involved in a crash on Coventry's Holyhead Road, leading to its closure near Coventry ring road.

The collision between the three cars happened near the junction with Minster Road at 12.20pm.

Two fire engines and three ambulances attended the scene.

One driver was taken to University Hospital on a spinal board for treatment.

A second driver was treated at the scene and the third driver was unhurt.

The road is currently closed from Barras Lane to Moseley Avenue, with traffic from the ring road being diverted down Coundon Road.

A black Volkswagen car sustained heavy exterior damage and a smashed windscreen while a black Ford car had its bumper ripped off in the collision.

Traffic is corrently streaming into Barras Lane and Windsor Street which are both totally choked.
