Alun Thorne appointed new editor of Coventry Telegraph

Alun Thorne has been appointed editor of the Coventry Telegraph.

He joins after three years editing the Telegraph’s sister paper, the Birmingham Post.

Alun, aged 37, said: “I’m extremely excited to have been given the opportunity to edit a newspaper with such a rich history and strong reputation as the Coventry Telegraph.

“I am looking forward to a fresh challenge and getting to work with a great team in Coventry as we build on the strong foundations that exist for the long-term success of this great newspaper.”

Neil Benson, Trinity Mirror’s editorial director regionals, said: “Alun has very clear ideas for developing the Telegraph brand across all publishing platforms, and will find a very talented team in Coventry who will play an essential role in delivering his plans.”
