Food bank is feeding Kenilworth families...

Postby dutchman » Mon Oct 01, 2012 10:55 am

A CHARITY food bank has already helped four struggling Kenilworth families in its first month thanks to the generosity and support of town residents.

The scheme, headed nationwide by the Trussle Trust, is run locally by volunteers and provides food donations, help and advice for people struggling to make ends meet.

Nessa Curby, treasurer in the town, said since being set up in August they have had an excellent response and been able to feed 15 people in desperate need due to sudden illness and debt.

Any non-perishable donations can be dropped at Jubilee House on Tuesday and Friday from 12 to 2pm, St John’s church or a range of shops including Town and Country furniture shop and Sainbury’s.

Volunteers to help assess families in need are also needed. Contact 853733 to volunteer or find out more.
