The report, created by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, pin-points nine sites across the two towns which could be used to create sprawling housing estates as part of the Borough Plan.

The Borough Plan sets out the overall planning vision and framework for Nuneaton and Bedworth over the next 15 to 20 years.

Officers at the local authority are currently putting together the details of the plan, which will contain a vision and strategic objectives for the area.

A total of nine sites have been identified, but these must be whittled down to six and this will be done through consultation with members of the public.

The potential development areas are behind the St Nicolas Park estate, taking in the grounds of Calendar Farm and Nuneaton Fields Farm, while the second site takes in the Weddington area from behind Judkins Quarry up to the back of the Weddington estate.

The third site identified for the report includes more land on the former Sterling metals site opposite the Maple Park estate off Marston Lane.

Land surrounding and including Seeswood Pool running alongside Ansley Road has also been put into the document as the fourth site.

This is followed with a site off Heath End Road, which stretches back behind The Nuneaton Academy and the document has also allocated a pocket of land at the back of Bermuda Business Park.

Over in Bedworth, the Woodlands, encompassing Norwood Farm and Woodlands Farm and Woodlands Lane is another area.

This is followed by land at Goodyers End off Hospital Lane, with the eighth area found in Exhall near Bedworth off Longford Road.

The final plot of land that has been identified is in Hawkesbury near Bedworth which takes in the golf course.
