Coventry's streets are changing - hungry families and those living a hand-to-mouth existence are becoming more and more visible.
While times are tough for most of us, growing numbers queuing at Coventry Soup Kitchen near Pool Meadow Bus Station every Sunday have nowhere else to turn.
Many are frantic and mothers arrive desperate for food so their families can simply get through the week.
Volunteers who provide this service of last-resort have described being completely swamped.
The soup kitchen is a way for city charity Anesis and other services such as the Salvation Army to make contact with some of the most hard to reach people in the city.
Some are homeless, many have developed addictions, while psychological problems plague those just looking for a way to survive.
The cars which drive past on the ring road above barely notice this invisible army of people.
But it’s getting bigger.
“This kind of thing will be coming to a street near everyone soon,” insists Kervin Julien, a ministry director for Anesis, which runs the service.
