Coventry Blaze have signed South Korea international Woo-Sang Park on a one-month trial. The 26-year-old forward from Seoul has been recommended by Blaze defenceman Dustin Wood, who played alongside him for Anyang Halla in the Asia League.
And Blaze head coach Paul Thompson first came up against Park while coaching the Great Britain team.
"He's a big six foot three centreman, which is something we need," Thompson told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.
"Woody knows all about him. He played with him for two years in Korea in the Asia League and he thinks he's going to be a big addition for us.
"He's coming on a month's trial. We've kind of talked about a contract after that month. But obviously it's a massive culture change for him."
Park scored 32 goals, as well as making 87 assists, in his three years in the Asia League - and it is that sort scoring and creativity rate which has encouraged Thompson to give the Korean his chance at the Skydome.
